Forza Horizon 5 PlayStation: Drift Zone Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Drift Zones in Forza Horizon 5 measure how well a car can be put sideways — each of the 30 confirmed zones across Mexico, the Horizon Hot Wheels Park, and Sierra Nueva has a point score target rather than a distance target, awarding up to 3 stars based on the total drift score accumulated while passing through the marked section of road.

All 30 are marked and properly documented across Map Master's three FH5 interactive maps: Mexico, Horizon Hot Wheels Park, and Sierra Nueva.

Unlocking Drift Zones: Canyon Expedition

Drift Zones are part of the PR Stunts family alongside Danger Signs, Speed Traps, and Speed Zones.

All PR Stunts unlock after completing the Canyon Expedition (Horizon Rush), which builds the Horizon Rush Outpost and earns the "Adrenaline Rush" Bronze trophy.

The Living Legend Trophy: 294 Combined Stars

"Living Legend" (Gold) — earn 294 stars from PR Stunts across Mexico. Every Drift Zone awards up to 3 stars per attempt and can be replayed for higher scores.

The 294 target spans all PR Stunt types combined — maximising Drift Zone stars (not just scraping 1 or 2 stars per zone) meaningfully reduces the burden on Speed Traps and Speed Zones to carry the remainder.

The Scoring System: Sustained Drift Beats Multiple Short Drifts

Drift Zone score accumulates from angle, speed, and drift chain length simultaneously. The practical implication: one long, continuous drift through the entire marked zone scores significantly higher than several shorter drifts separated by corrections.

Entry speed matters — arriving too slowly loses angle score, arriving too fast loses control. The optimal approach is to initiate the drift slightly before the zone marker appears and carry the slide all the way through to the exit without lifting.

Cara Este: The Only Zone That Needs a Dedicated Build

The gap between Cara Este's 500,000-point target and the next hardest zone (Reservoir at 240,000) is larger than most entire zones.

Cara Este is a long, fast-entry mountain switchback where maintaining angle through successive corners is the only way to stack enough points.

A purpose-built drift car — RWD, drift tyres, soft rear differential, maximum power for wheelspin control — is required. A road-tuned car that handles other zones comfortably will not reach 500,000 here.

Hot Wheels Park: Class Is Mandatory

Each Hot Wheels Park Drift Zone enforces a specific car class at the time of the attempt — the same system as the park's Danger Signs.

Arrive in an S2 car at a [S1] zone, and the game will either restrict entry or force a class change. Check the class tag before driving to each Hot Wheels Drift Zone.
